Client install for Windows

Step 1: Download the latest SolidCoin client Windows installer. See the Downloads page on this Wiki.

The installer is an .exe file which will generally cause a warning message in most browsers when you try to download it. Accept these warnings and "Keep" or "Download" the file.

Step 2: Run the installer.

The installer does not currently have any options, so just accept the license agreement, click next a few times and you're done!

The installer automatically detects if you are running Windows 32 bit or 64 bit and installs the appropriate version. The only difference between the 32 bit and 64 bit versions is the speed of mining.

If you run Windows and intend to mine SolidCoins with your CPU, it is strongly recommended that you use a 64 bit version of Windows, as mining is at least twice as fast on 64 bit machines.

The installer will create a directory in %appdata% named "SolidCoin2". This will be where the client stores your Wallet, the database that contains the BlockChain and the SolidCoin.conf file.

You can start using the client right away and don't need to do anything else. Advanced users may wish to close the program to delve into some of the more advanced Client Configuration options before continuing.
